Informatics project support is provided by the Statistics and Informatics team. As part of the bioinformatics support we are able to customize existing applications and develop novel bespoke software in order to reduce the time taken to collect, manipulate and analyse all forms of biological/biochemical data. For example, we can provide data simulation predictions, alternative analysis or improved data/database storage. We are able to provide you with an online approach or a stand alone application.
At Fera we have achieved success in bioinformatics research with over 10 years of experience. Experience in development of tools for data storage, data visualisation and data analysis. A number of international collaborators include partners from both the USA and EU.
Examples include developing data comparison methods for the detection of foodborne bacteria.
Identifying proteins from mass spectroscopy data and analysing genomic datasets to identity novel pathogenic genes.
Development and implementation of software for rapidly interoperating NMR metabolomic data.
Proteomics software as part of a EU funded consortium on TSE research. Design and creation of software/databases to investigate allergens.
Other areas of interest include next generation DNA sequence technologies, highthoughput data processing and distributed computing technologies.
