Informatics project support is provided by the Statistics and Informatics team. As part of the bioinformatics support we are able to customize existing applications and develop novel bespoke software in order to reduce the time taken to collect, manipulate and analyse all forms of biological/biochemical data. For example, we can provide data simulation predictions, alternative analysis or improved data/database storage. We are able to provide you with an online approach or a stand alone application.
At CSL we have achieved successful bioinformatics research and development in data storage, visualisation (2D and 3D) and
analysis software. For example, development and implementation of software for rapid interoperating of NMR metabolomic data.
Proteomics software as part of a EU funded consortium on TSE research. Design and creation of software/databases to investigate allergens, and we are a node of an EU commissioned network to promote food allergy information to researchers and the
general public (Informall). Development of data analysis software to identify patterns within whole genomic
datasets. Other areas of interest include DNA Microarray design/analysis, protein chip technology, data processing,
and distributed computing technology.
